Each huge ancient church was conceived, designed, engineered, built and maintained with love and reverence by souls in the past, a gift for us who see it today, with profound reverence and intended permanence.
I would submit for your consideration that your family you grew up in, can be considered one of these "cathedrals".
Each of your relationships becomes a similar monument too.
Your view of the world and your place in it is an abstract construct - it too, as insubstantial as it may seem, like a cathedral, has a nave, aisle, buttresses, facade, apse, transept, and crypt.
